Why are the Gift Boxes so expensive?

Alaskan art is not cheap. We wanted to provide truly authentic art and products rather than those bought in the souvenir sections of the stores. We will not have any items made in China. All of our items are hand made by local businesses and crafts people so the price is higher. The shipping from Alaska is also a little bit higher. We truly feel that the Gift Boxes are worth the money spent.

Can I order a gift for a friend and can it get there on a specific date?

You definitely can order gift boxes for other people.  If you need for it to arrive by a specific date, we will do our very best.  Please indicate the date you need it to get there in the “notes to shipper” section when you checkout.  It would be helpful if you would also follow up with an email to marketing@apieceofalaska.com .  We would also be happy to enclose a card with your message on it.  Please also include your message in the “notes to shipper”, at checkout and then also email it to us.

Can I order individual products without the crate?

Unfortunately, we only sell the products in the crates, but we are happy to put you in touch with the artist that makes the product you are interested in and you can order directly from them.  We love promoting our Alaskan artists.  Just email us at marketing@apieceofalaska.com and we will send you their email and/or website address.

What do I do if something is broken in the crate?

We try our very best to bubble wrap the breakable items but things do happen once the post office gets ahold of the packages.  If your crate arrives and something is broken or missing, please email us and let us know.  We will send out a replacement for anything that breaks in transport.

Is there a deadline for ordering the Special Holiday Crates?

As long as the crate is up on our website, it is still available.  You can specify if you want it shipped immediately or not shipped until it is closer to a specific date or holiday.  Just make a note in the “notes to shipper” when you order that lets us know when you want it shipped.

Are the boxes refundable, if I don’t like what I get?

Unfortunately, we are not offering refunds on the boxes. If an item is broken in transit and you can return it to us, we will replace it at no charge to you but no refunds will be given on the boxes. We just really hope that you will love them as much as we do.

If I really like a specific box, is it possible to special order another one just like it?

Yes! You will just have to specify the box # in your order in the comments box or by emailing us directly at marketing@apieceofalaska.com .

Can I place an order over the phone?

If you aren’t comfortable entering your credit card information over the internet, you can just give us a call and we will take your order and credit card information over the phone.  Our phone number is 907-707-8455.  We are open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Alaska Time.  If you call after hours, just leave a message and we will call you back or contact us by text or email.
